Gary has over 30 years’ experience in the convention industry. He has consulted Tokyo, Macau, Hangzhou, Houston, Vancouver, Washington, DC and the countries of South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Serbia on convention and meetings industry development. His convention centre consulting experience includes market feasibility, demand analysis, facility scoping, design review, site review, and operational consultation for convention centre developments in Nigeria, Oman, Malaysia, Mexico and Australia. He also served on the London International Convention Centre Commission. Gary is a former Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau (now DMAI) and was one of the first six inductees into the inaugural DMAI Hall of Fame in 2014. He also received the Asia Pacific IMEX Academy Award in 2007.

Susan Robertson CAE

ASAE

Susan Robertson is the Executive Vice President of ASAE & President of the ASAE Foundation. As part of the executive office of the organization, her responsibilities include strategic and operational planning, and the leadership of teams focused on finance, community, meetings, membership, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, fundraising, publishing, social media & website, communications and public relations, fund raising, research, and credentialing.
During the past 15 years with ASAE, she has held a wide variety of roles and responsibilities including overall leadership of industry and market research and of of the award-winning magazine,
Associations Now. Prior to joining ASAE, Ms. Robertson was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for U.S. Office Products, a multibillion dollar business products company.
During her earlier career as a marketing and program development professional, she held positions with Ethan Allen, Inc. in its Danbury, CT headquarters, Washington-based National Office Products Association, and the National Dealer Alliance, where she was Executive Director.

 
Mike van der Vijver

Mike van der Vijver is a meeting designer, trainer, coach, moderator and facilitator, who works with people and processes. He has 25 years' experience in the meeting industry, initially as conference interpreter and subsequently as meeting designer through MindMeeting, the company he co-founded. 

MindMeeting specialises in the design of effective programmes for international meetings. Mike as been a regular speaker at conferences and events and is often asked to facilitate discussions in an outside the meetings industry. He presents programmes and moderates discussions as chairman of the day, whether designed by MindMeeting or not. Mike and his colleague Eric de Groot are the co-authors of 'Into the Heart of Meetings, Basic Principles of Meetings and Meeting Design' - the first book on meeting design. 

In addition, he is a consultant and coach with itim International, an International venture that focuses on culture (national or organisational) as a management tool. He lives both in Italy and the Netherlands and speaks English, Dutch and Italian.
